Southern living house plans examples
In the past few years, southern living house plans have been bringing people the treasures and the beauty that the South can offer.
They have gathered an exciting collection of house plans, as part of that mission, from some of the South’s top designers. In this article we are going to showcase these unique styles, each one illustrating those exclusive Southern characteristics only found in the finest custom homes, as well as the attention to details. Plantation estates, coastal cottages or whatever your preferences may be, you will surely enjoy them all.
One of the southern living house plans includes an extremely private master suite (connected by a vestibule to the main house) that is more than just enjoyable. What makes this suite unique is a personal porch, two walk-in closets, a garden tub and, last but not least, the two bathroom vanities. Guests would, as well, be spoiled, the master site having a visitors quarters in a different structure, on the other side of a secluded porch. The dining room, the kitchen, and the living room all from a big open space for everyone to hang around together. A luxurious bathroom upstairs is shared by two bedrooms. It’s been awarded the Cottage of the Year prize and it is an exclusive design for Coastal Living Magazine, by Moser Design Group, for Southern Living (Registered Trademark).
Another example of southern living house plans comes from Memphis, by Looney Kiss Architects, Incorporated, and it’s called The Montcrest. Offering 4,070 square feet (378, 1154 square meters), it proposes both gathering areas perfect for big events as well as quiet spaces for peaceful nights. Visitors are welcomed by a dynamic front entry with two beautiful doors and a columned porch. You can either party in the family room, where you have access to two beautiful porches that will allow you to enjoy the night or in the beautiful garden parlor or, you can confine the entertaining to the dining room and study if you have to. When the night ends, you can retire to the beautifully sheltered master suite that features a charming bay window, a luxurious bath, and two walk-in closets. Upstairs you can find three additional bedrooms and a game room with a fully equipped bath, kitchen, and deck that turn it into a great private suite for a visiting relative or friend.
Offering a flexible plan inside a wonderful country exterior, Sand Mountain House features two fireplaces in both dining room and the family room in order to create cozy, warm evenings. Three separate covered porches, for when the weather warms up, offer many possibilities for enjoying the outdoors. In the master suite, you will find a walk-in closet and dual sinks that will ease the daily routine. A full bath is opened by two family bedrooms and, if you need more space, another bath and room can be constructed upstairs.
